We are delighted to have received a double award ‘for companies that have a heart’.
Envelope Systems has not only won the customer service category in the International Corporate Social Responsibility Awards, but has also scooped the ‘Heart of Gold’ award for overall 2016 winner.
The award follows our ‘David and Goliath’ campaign late last year
against HMRC’s surprise deadline for moving to its new Gift Aid declaration wording.
The campaign, enthusiastically supported by hundreds of our customers, saved millions of envelopes going into landfill and hundreds of thousands of pounds for churches and charities faced with having to replace their stocks.
The double award was collected by our managing director, Penny Miles and her husband and company chairman, Tony Miles at a ceremony held at The Crystal in London’s Docklands.
Penny said: “It is a great honour to be recognised like this, especially as we are only a small team of nine. The greater prize though was the satisfaction of being able to step in and help like that. I’m so glad the campaign worked.
“We like customers to buy our envelopes because they want to, not because of their misfortune at the hands of HMRC! They are great envelopes that should pay for themselves many times over. We’re happy to trade just on that basis,” she said.
The ‘Heart of Gold’ award was won against stiff competition from category winners at the ceremony, many of which were large companies worldwide doing great work in the corporate social responsibility space. These included Kuwait Petroleum International and Cisco Systems as well as UK industry leaders including Aldi and London Stansted Airport.
